Privacy Policy

• Personal Information: We collect your name, email address, and phone number to create your account and identify you during emergencies.
• Background Location Data: This app collects location data to enable location sharing with your emergency contacts during an active SOS or missed check-in, even when the app is closed or not in use. This is our core safety feature. Without background location access, your emergency contacts will not know where to send help if you cannot open the app.
• SMS and Call Permissions: We request SMS permissions to automatically send emergency alert text messages to your trusted contacts when you trigger an SOS or miss a check-in.
• Contact List: We access your device's contact list so you can easily select your trusted emergency contacts. We do not upload or store your entire address book.
• Camera and Photos: We access your camera and photo library to allow you to upload KYC (Know Your Customer) identity documents.

2. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We never sell your personal information or location data. We only share data in the following ways:

• Trusted Contacts: During an emergency SOS or missed check-in, we share your exact location and safety status with the emergency contacts you specifically selected.
• Law Enforcement: We may share data with law enforcement if legally required to do so.
• Service Providers: We use secure third-party services (like cloud storage for KYC documents) to operate the app. They are bound by strict confidentiality.

3. Data Security

Encryption: All personal data, location data, and sensitive documents transmitted between your device and our servers are encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard secure protocols.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Temporary Data: Location history and check-in logs are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time. Upon requesting account deletion, all your personal data, location history, and KYC documents will be permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days.

Terms of Service

By using the I Am Alive application, users agree to use the platform responsibly and lawfully.

The app is intended to assist with safety notifications and emergency awareness but cannot guarantee emergency response, rescue, or safety outcomes.

Users are responsible for ensuring their emergency contact information remains accurate and updated.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that misuse, abuse, or attempt to harm the platform or other users.

Safety Disclaimer

I Am Alive is designed to support personal safety but does not replace police, medical services, or emergency responders.

In life-threatening situations, users should immediately contact local emergency services.

The app sends notifications and alerts to trusted contacts but cannot guarantee response times or assistance availability.

Child Safety Standards

I Am Alive is committed to protecting children and preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform.

We strictly prohibit:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Sexual exploitation of minors
• Child grooming or predatory behavior
• Human trafficking involving minors
• Any sexualized content involving children

Users can report harmful or inappropriate behavior through the app or by contacting support directly.

Accounts found violating child safety policies may be suspended or permanently removed.

Where required by law, we cooperate with relevant law enforcement and child protection authorities.

Data Deletion Request

Users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time.

To request account deletion, please contact support using your registered email address.

Once verification is completed, the account and related data will be permanently deleted from our systems within a reasonable processing period.
